We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Business Development to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving the growth of the company by identifying new business opportunities, developing relationships with internal and external customers, and overseeing the business development team to meet revenue targets. The AVP will report directly to the VP of Administration and work closely with the executive team.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, Master’s preferred. Marketing, business development, and healthcare sales experience required. Experience in business and project planning, development and implementation required. A minimum of seven (7) years sales leadership experience is required.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Collaborates with programs to include Children programs, Bereavement programs, Covenant Alzheimer’s Services, Veterans programs. Also collaborates with the Marketing and Communications department to include Volunteer Programs, Development and Communications, Health Information Systems, Decision Support and Business Operations and Clinical Services Teams. Collaborates on Marketing Research, and these developing programs: Covenant Palliative Care Services, Covenant at Home, Providence Inpatient and Palliative Care, and any other as determined.
  • Set and execute an aggressive customer acquisition strategy for Covenant Care.
  • Align with internal sales teams to present a single front internally and help represent a single vision for our customers.
  • Provide detailed and accurate sales forecasting.
  • Manage overall sales process, set appropriate metrics for sales funnel management.
  • Plan and manage at both the strategic and operational levels.
  • Manage group discussions to synthesize and resolve conflicting points of view.
  • Integrate marketing, operations and financial knowledge to achieve enterprise goals.
  • Predict and manage change through innovative methods.
  • Assess risk using financial, statistical and economic data and create manageable solutions.
  • Leverage advanced knowledge and skills to develop sustainable program growth and assess opportunities for continued growth.
  • The business development role is tasked to develop a cohesive business development team focused on innovations, assuring alignment of business planning with strategic plans, development of service innovations, enterprise equity management, development of program synergies, financial analysis, business management, building brand equity, and overall growth of all Covenant Care programs.
  • Develops integrated business plans for new or reconfigured programs and services to maximize potential, leverage resources, promote synergies and produce sustainable growth outcomes.
  • Develop decision support systems and tools for enterprise management and growth.
  • On-going assessment and troubleshooting, and development of roles and functions related to patient and family access to care and support services, programs and timeliness of service provision.
  • Development of referral management systems and processes in collaboration with broad patient care teams and experts.
  • Oversee health care planning consultation, tool development and communications of support tools and information.
  • Synthesize external and internal environment needs, challenges and goals to develop effective strategies and promote growth.

  • Oversee integrated Marketing and Communication strategies to educate, promote and develop enhance program growth.

  • Provides leadership in mentoring, leadership development and succession planning.
  • Interviews and hires necessary supervised staff, and assists managers with the hiring of their staff, when necessary.
  • Promotes a positive image of the Hospice, Home Health, and evolving healthcare diversified services concepts internally and throughout the community.
  • Assumes other responsibilities as requested.
  • Required to comply with all Covenant Care Policies, Procedures and Personnel Policies, including those specifically addressing disaster preparedness and response.
